The NJ Paid Leave Outreach Collaborative convening to discuss paid leave and how it relates to improved maternal and child health outcomes.
U.S. employer spending on maternity care rose 50 percent in the last decade and maternity is also one of the main drivers of high-cost claims for employers. Childbirth is a significant life event and the number one reason for hospitalization in New Jersey. Leading business owners and organizations in New Jersey recognize the impact of pregnancy and maternity care for their employees. However, many organizations don't understand how to communicate the role of paid family and medical leave on the health and well-being of employees for safe and healthy births.
This meeting includes valuable perspectives from knowledgeable speakers, as well as resources, information, and tools to help nonprofits, social service organizations, HR staff, and others make the connection between paid leave and maternal & infant health.
