The Impact of Paid Leave on the Disability Community
Join us to discuss the intersection of paid leave for the disabled community. As well as celebrate Disability Pride and the anniversary of the ADA! Disability Pride Month is celebrated every July and is an opportunity to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community. The conversation will focus on paid leave as it impacts disabled workers and their loved ones, but we will also discuss other protections and rights of disabled individuals and work. We'd love for you to view this dynamic convening to learn more and participate in the discussion!

Health Equity and Inclusive Paid Leave: Access for the LGBTQIA+ Community
When it comes to taking time off work, whether it be for mental health, caring for yourself or a loved one, or for bonding, access to inclusive paid leave and an affirming workplace that is free from discrimination is vital for all working people, but especially for Queer and Trans Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC). Join us on March 15 @ 10 am to discuss the topic of health equity and inclusive paid leave and access for LGBTQIA workers in NJ! We will discuss NJ workers' rights and how they are critical for the LGBTQIA community, as well as the barriers they face when accessing these benefits. Through storytelling, advocacy, and education, we can assure that the LGBTQIA community can safely access time off when they need it the most. Guest speakers from the NJ Department of Labor, Garden State Equality, the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence, COLAGE, and Family Values @ Work will join to dig deeper into this topic!

The NJ Paid Leave Outreach Collaborative's 2nd Meeting
On the culture of leave-taking and how it impacts workers’ ability to care for themselves and their loved ones. Even when workers are eligible to take paid family leave, they do not take it and there is a multitude of reasons. Still, we have societal and cultural expectations of work and caregiving that influence how comfortable or even fearful people feel about taking time off. A discussion on paid leave and how it relates to improved maternal and child health outcomes. This meeting includes valuable perspectives from knowledgeable speakers, as well as resources, information, and tools to help nonprofits, social service organizations, HR staff, and others make the connection between paid leave and maternal & infant health.
Domestic Violence & Paid Leave
Join us in discussing how to support DV survivors when taking leave! In this convening, we hear an overview of NJ Paid Family Leave & DV coverage, Know-Your-Rights & DV specific resources, and laws, as well as barriers facing survivors. Access to Earned Sick Days In NJ
Together, we can help increase awareness and access to Earned Sick Days for all. Join us for a virtual convening to discuss what the law provides, and what experience and research shows is really happening on the ground for many workers. We will have an Earned Sick and Safe Days law training from the Department of Labor, and learn about polling, and data on earned sick days from researchers, and advocates.
