The NJ Paid Leave Outreach Collaborative's 2nd Meeting

The Paid Leave Outreach Collaborative 2nd Convening on the culture of leave-taking and how it impacts workers’ ability to care for themselves and their loved ones. Even when workers are eligible to take paid family leave, they do not take it and there is a multitude of reasons. Still, we have societal and cultural expectations of work and caregiving that influence how comfortable or even fearful people feel about taking time off. We will explore this topic with participants and our Guest Speaker, Scott Behson, Author of the Whole Person Workplace (https://www.scottbehson.com/the-whole-person-workplace)

Some questions we will discuss are: How can workers make the case for employers to shift their mindset around taking leave? How can public policy help move the culture to meet workers' caregiving needs?
