When it comes to taking time off, benefits can look different for everyone whether it be for mental health, caring for yourself or a loved one, or bonding. Access to inclusive paid leave and an affirming workplace that is free from discrimination is vital for all working people, especially Queer and Trans Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC).
Join us on March 15 @ 10 am to discuss the intersection of workplace justice and LGBTQ rights in NJ! Utilizing a health equity perspective and analyzing existing policies such as inclusive family definition, family leave insurance, and the NJ Law Against Discrimination, we will discuss what options are available to the LGBTQ community as well as the barriers faced when accessing these benefits. Through storytelling, advocacy, and education, we can assure that the LGBTQIA can safely access time off when they need it the most. We will be joined by a panel of invited guest speakers from the Department of Labor, Garden State Equality, the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence, COLAGE, and Family Values @ Work to dig deeper into this topic!
